The Following Is an Email I Just Sent To The Person Who Commissioned Me To Create A Rolling Stones Homage Artwork

Well, here's one for the bio...

I was looking forward to sending you an email today telling you that I was in the home stretch...
but I should have known it was one of those days when I walked right into a steel cable that stretched from the top of a telephone pole to where it was attached to the MIDDLE of the sidewalk!

Then I stopped in at Out Of The Closet after dropping off some artwork at Paws/LA for their auction, when a guy stopped to yell at me for shrugging at his decision to back up through the parking lot. Whatever.

So then - the last hour I have spent working on The Piece, which has been shaping up nicely and looking forward to finishing touches, when a shelf - holding glues, brushes, small speakers, etc AND my glass of wine, collapsed right on top of The Piece. Specifically, the broken glass and most of the wine splashed right on Keith. Which, while swearing and freaking and tossing, I had to chuckle about it because, well - it's Keith.

So, I'm writing this now, drinking straight form the bottle, as I presume Keith would do - to tell you that either The Piece might have a slight air of vino about it, or I have to recreate Keith, which is doable of course.
Just waiting now to see how the drying system works out. And I go from there.

I wonder how many people have told Keith he needed to dry out... Oh, the irony.
I feel like climbing a palm tree right about now but this has exhausted me and I'm pretty sure I'd fall out.

People Suck

stolen.jpeg

When I was much younger my boyfriend at the time had a pit bull. We lived next to some woods. He used to let the dog out into the woods for her to relieve herself. One time she didn't come back and he was convinced she was stolen for dog fighting. After all we were in Texas at the time. He convinced me on the surface but I often wondered if she just wandered off and he didn't bother to look for her more than the one walk through the woods.

Recently I have seen LOST posters all over town for a yorkie. And when I say all over town, I mean every other block from Studio City to NoHo, to Toluca Lake to Burbank to Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys. Huge pink poster boards with a picture and reward offered, some now saying "still missing". Usually when I see posters for cats around here I immediately think coyote, but this time, a cute yorkie, I think stolen. Somewhere there is girl with a new yorkie and a guy who drives by those signs every day either cringing or, I think more likely in this society, smiling.
