Waiting for the train on a Sunday night after a Lakers game
and after missing one train by 30 seconds is no fun
but at least it is a visual stimulus.

Lakers won handily.

What Would Your Dog Write About You?

Jinky-inviteam.jpg

We love our dogs -
and one of my friend's dogs even wrote a book!

And he even used a photo of his mom and dad that I shot a couple Christmases ago.

Come join in the fun at Book Soup.
Outoftowners can buy it here OR here.

Signs Of The Times

jacket1.jpg

As previosly mentioned in the entry before this one, I sported this jacket between 1986 & 89.
In light of todays election, here are a couple buttons that I gathered and flaunted during that time.

jacketbuttons2.JPG

I believe it was the election before '88 that I wore a campaign button and was brought into HR and told I had to remove it while on the job. I hated that job. And I'd never been to Colorado.

Bentsen Who? And where are today's buttons? The only one I've seen this year is the "No on 85" worn by a friend in the California Family Planning and Health Commission.

Rock the Vote!

Old Friends From Comedy & The Closet

After a free dinner at Barsac we headed to the Sacred Fools Theater for Bukowsical and were told by the guy who played Bukowski, "You should've told me you were coming, I would've put you on the guest list!"

C'est la vie. It all balances out.

While waiting for the show to start I saw a guy I used to know from our hanging at The Improv days, say 17-20 years ago. This kind of thing happens and I usually ignore it because I figure they wouldn't remember me anyway as they've been busy all that time making money, making babies and often making stars of themselves.

Well, after the show I found myself in the tiny lobby of the theater across from him and he instantly said, "Hey, how are you! I haven't seen you in so long, you look exactly the same!"

As soon as I was sure he was for real I said, "That's funny because on Halloween I dressed as ME, twenty years ago!!

Now, THE REASON I dressed as me twenty years ago, is because we recently visited Ruben at Musso's and once again he fondly remembered and made sure to comment on "that jacket" I used to wear "with all the stuff on it". I told him that I would pull it out of storage and wear it for him on Halloween. I didn't make it to Musso's on Halloween, but I did get the thirty pound jacket out and when I put it on it felt just like yesterday.

Except that "yesterday" I was able to board a plane wearing that jacket but today they wouldn't let me near one. And I think EXACTLY twenty years ago I had a crew cut with chevrons shaved in at the nape...

Coming Soon: Close-ups of said jacket. "Signs of the times".

Day Of The Dead

This is not Toluca Lake where I spent Halloween at a mansion helping to hand out 1400 full size candy bars in less than two hours. But it's not far. Just far left. And very ballsy. I likey. And obviously nobody messes with a Tupac fan.
