A challenge to Christians

Dear Christian believer,

If you heard me earlier today on the Bob Dutko radio show, you know that I challenged you to investigate sincerely the origins of your religion, rather than be willfully deluded by the rigged arguments of Christian apologists and authors (Lee Strobel, etc.).

Good Christian soldiers (as well as craven entrepreneurs) have manufactured no shortage of books and essays that have the appearance of objective scholarship. But if you rely on these works--which are fueled by the bias of supernatural religious faith--you are really just keeping yourself sealed inside a bubble. And maybe you want to be in that bubble. Many Christians do.

But if you can truly take a step back from your religion and look at facts and arguments from the perspective that Christian doctrine may not be true, here are some links you may want to explore:

Earl Doherty's The Jesus Puzzle.

Works by former Baptist seminary student and current practicing Christian Robert M. Price.

Works by historian Richard Carrier.

If you would like to see The God Who Wasn't There without causing any financial benefit to Beyond Belief Media and me, you may rent it at Netflix. Netflix has already bought hundreds of copies of the movie, and your one-time rental is not likely to cause them to need to buy more. Also, I allow anyone to screen the movie without paying royalties, so any screening of the movie you may discover will not be sharing box-office proceeds with me or Beyond Belief Media. Many clips from the movie are available here and here.
