Just when you thought Arnold couldn't get any more shameless

As anyone who has worked on a commercial shoot knows, every single prop and piece of scenery that is seen in a commercial gets placed there carefully and purposefully. The chance that a certain product or logo could make it into the frame without getting there by explicit design is precisely zero.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's new commercial is filled with conspicuously placed products. And these products just so happen to be sold by major contributors to his campaign.

To comprehend how blatant this really is, you need to see the video. Watch the spot: QuickTime | Windows Media

See Arnold Watch for more.

Attention reporters:

Arnold's claim:

Todd Harris, a Schwarzenegger campaign spokesman, said nothing should be read into the arranging of the products in the commercial.

"The reason those particular products were on a table is we were in a cafeteria and that's what those people bought," Harris said.

This product placement absolutely did not happen by accident. Not a chance. And with some digging, you can likely prove it.

Someone chose to dress this set not using the typical generic items that a designer would normally choose. Someone selected these particular branded items and placed them carefully in the frame. And the director and the director of photography both said, Yes, that looks good like that.

It could not have happened any other way in the real world of film production.

Find the people on this film set who held one of these titles: Production designer, art director, set dresser or property master. Any one of these folks should be able to tell you who told them to choose these particular items to place on the set, or lead you in the right direction. If they say they don't know, and they don't know who would know, they're lying.

Follow the art department. It ain't their fault, but they're the ones who had to receive this instruction.

If this trail does not lead to a Schwarzenegger campaign operative, I'll drink a Diet Pepsi.

This really should blow up in Arnold's face. Here's me trying to help...
