If he was wired and is lying about it now, then he flat-out broke the rules to which he agreed, and that would be shameful. Again, however, I'm totally unconvinced -- and remain unconvinced even after reading some of the Web coverage. Then again, this is a president whose ethics are questionable to begin with. We already know he's dishonest. Look, this is a man who promised comity, not divisiveness, in his governing style and then raced to the radical right in policy and practice. He promised to maintain fiscal discipline and then put an enormous new burden on our children, who'll pay the debt for his tax-cut gift to the rich conservatives. And those were just the appetizers. Bush started a war under false pretenses, and he and his subordinates continue to mislead at every turn about basic life-and-death issues. You want to talk about his ethics, talk about that. We have more important things to worry about than an alleged electronic debate aid that, if it existed, didn't help.

Bush AWOL: He probably did go AWOL, and he probably did perform community service in Texas as part of a sentence for a crime. And it doesn't do any good to focus on this now.

Sinclair scandal: We won. And it doesn't do any good to focus on this now.

With 10 days to go, I'm more worried about getting out the vote in swing states.
