iMix

The new iTunes Music Store feature called iMix is an interesting idea. People create playlists with themes, and then you go and spend lots of money to download them as DRM-protected files whose terms of use can change on you at any time without notice. Wait. I'm trying to be positive, not negative.

It is actually a cool feature. Some iMixes (these links go to the iTMS):

Songs Sampled By Beastie Boys on Paul's Boutique
There are 36 of them. And you can get them all for under $36.

Can We All Agree These Are Great Rush Songs?
Totally, dude. Well, except "By-Tor and the Snow Dog." I don't know what you were thinking there. But "YYZ." Dude. Awesome.

Free iTunes Music
A list of songs that used to be free on iTunes but now are not, except for one. Uh, thanks.

The D&D Days
"These were some of the songs that dominated the airwaves and provided background music during many of my all-night role-playing sessions... Thanks to my buddy Mark (and, in spirit, Westerling the Paladin) for helping me put this list together." Under $37!

Beatles for Sale
The Beatles' Apple Music label is at war with Apple Computer over really stupid trademark crap, so the Fab Two & the Two Estates refuse to allow the iTMS to sell Beatles recordings. But this is a list of Beatles covers that are available.

Turn It Up!
I just created this one, based on the material I used for my last remix. (Props: As the Apple Turns, David Gallagher.)
