Helping Slumdance for free (and not)
So, okay, you don't want to buy a Blogad here, because you don't have a website or product to advertise. But, still, you ask, How can I help out Slumdance?
I'm really glad you asked that. There are three other ways you can send some money Slumdance's way to help out with the site costs, and the first two don't cost you a thing:
1. Download the Alexa toolbar. By using that toolbar to visit Amazon, you'll be sending some pennies to Slumdance every time you buy something (at no extra cost to you). The formula varies, but the transactions do add up. The toolbar only works for Windows, and I use a Mac, so I can't tell you how useful it is. If you try it, let me know. It's apparently a free pop up blocker, too. (ALERT: The toolbar notes the sites you visit and sends the stats back to Alexa. So you'll be helping this blog's Alexa ranking, too. However, some people really don't like software that notes and reports these figures, so if you're one of those people, you may want to stay away from this one.)
2. If you can't use or don't want the toolbar, shop at Amazon using this link. Or click on the Amazon logo over on the left. Same deal--some pennies come Slumdance's way (at no extra cost to you) when you initiate your visit to Amazon using a link on this site. (You could also replace your current Amazon bookmark in your Favorites with this URL.) Amazon respects your privacy, btw--I never know who bought what, although I have a lot of fun guessing.
3. Cut out the middleman! Send money straight to Slumdance via PayPal, and I promise not to spend it on Night Train. Really. I'm more of a Thunderbird man. (And there's a special message waiting just for you if you click that button.)
Of course buying the Nothing So Strange DVD or Fair and Balanced is also a nice thing to do and will almost certainly get you into Heaven. (And, what the hell, while I'm at it, I might as well mention my Amazon Wish List, which contains items placed there specifically to make you uncomfortable.)
And now I will put away the pitches for another few months and get back to the blogging.
