Howard Dean Media Team

It just gets better and better. The Dean for America staff is putting together a grass-roots media team. Distributed media creation! What a brilliant idea. They obviously realize the Internet isn't the only new phenomenon to exploit--there's also the DV revolution. Literally thousands of supporters no doubt have video cameras and computers that can be used to help create media (not to mention Photoshop, etc). And plenty of people also have professional-level talent to go with all those physical resources. If they can figure out a way to organize all of this potential...

And they are. As blogged about here, there is a new Assignment Desk where Dean supporters can go and find ways to pitch in that suit their abilities and geographical location. Freakin' brilliant. Finally a campaign that recognizes that supporters are good for more than just forwarding emails and sending money. If Dean manages to harness all of this creative talent, that could add X% of real $ value to his campaign. How much? I don't know. But it will be exciting to find out. (I plan to take an assignment from the Desk just as soon as I finish the non-political assignment I'm supposed to be finishing right now instead of blogging this.)
